Understanding Privacy Regulations & Terminology

We, Our, Us – Refers to Associated Banc-Corp and its affiliates ("the Associated family" or “the Associated companies”).

The use of "you" and "your" – Refers to all of our current and former customers who have or had a deposit account, loan, safe deposit box, Individual Retirement Account and customers from whom we collect a fee for fiduciary, financial, investment or insurance services, including advisory or brokerage services.

Nonpublic personal information – Refers to information collected as a result of providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.

Affiliate – A company Associated Banc-Corp owns or controls.

Consumer – An individual who obtains or has obtained a financial product or service from us that is to be used primarily for personal, family or household purposes, or that individual's legal representative.

Nonaffiliated third party – A company that is not affiliated with Associated Banc-Corp, but with whom we may have a joint marketing agreement or other relationship.

The type of nonpublic personal information we may collect comes from:

  • Information regarding your transaction history with us, such as account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit usage; and
  • Information provided by others about your transactions with nonaffiliated third parties such as credit bureaus and consumer reporting agencies, regarding your creditworthiness and payment history.
Information Shared With Affiliates and Nonaffiliated Third Parties

We use and share nonpublic personal information about your account history or experiences with us within the Associated family of banks and companies as permitted by law. We may also share your nonpublic personal information such as: name, address, social security number, account balances, account activity, assets, payment history, and parties to the transaction. This information may be shared among affiliates, those nonaffiliated third parties with whom we have entered into joint marketing agreements, and parties contracted with to provide services on our behalf, such as: mortgage bankers, investment firms, insurance agents and/or companies and other lending or financial services institutions.

We may also provide such information as permitted or required by law to credit bureaus and to various government entities in response to subpoenas and other legal processes, as well as to those with whom you have requested or authorized us to share nonpublic personal information.

Any nonpublic personal information shared with nonaffiliated third parties is limited to that which is required to fulfill a specific purpose and is protected by strict confidentiality provisions.

Understanding your choice about information sharing

Associated Banc-Corp and its affiliates (“the Associated companies”) listed prior are providing this notice. Federal law gives you the right to limit some but not all marketing from the Associated companies. Federal law also requires us to give you this notice to tell you about your choice to limit marketing from the Associated companies.

You may limit the Associated companies, such as the Associated banking, loan, insurance, brokerage and wealth management affiliates, from marketing their products or services to you based on your personal information that they receive from other Associated companies. This information includes your income, your account history, and your credit score. Your choice to limit marketing offers from the Associated companies by opting-out will apply until you tell us to change your choice. By opting out, you are indicating to us to not allow any of the Associated companies to use your personal information to market to you.

You have the choice regarding whether or not you would like your personal nonpublic information shared with Associated Banc-Corp affiliates and nonaffiliated third parties except under those circumstances permitted by law. You may notify us of your decision at any point in time. This is referred to as "opting out." By opting out you will be excluded from receiving information regarding beneficial products and services, discounts and other financial services for which you may be eligible.

Please note if you have a joint account and decide to opt out, it will apply to all participants on the account.

If you have provided an opt out notice in the past, we will continue to honor that opt out request. You do not have to provide us with another opt out notice.
